Secondary Students’ Sensory Preferences and Their Influence on Science Academic Achievement

Evidence has been found that some students seem to have learning obstacles associated with particular sensory preferences when dealing instructional materials. Therefore, knowing students’ could help teachers improve resources. Our objectives were: (1) describe Secondary according gender and age; (2) analyse the possible association between their general academic achievement in science. We conducted a synchronic, cross-sectional descriptive study sample of 582 male female from 7th 11th grade using VARK questionnaire. There was significant predominance containing Kinesthetic mode, Visual mode were least frequent. Girls or boys showed similar distributions preferences. Using linear regression predict scores, we obtained contribution score, minor but still single Reading/Writing score.
